Max Sturm has more than a decade of experience working with students of all ages, abilities, and ambitions. He prepares students for college entrance exams (including the ACT and SAT), advises the college application process (including college matching and essay crafting), and mentors students through a wide range of academic subjects and challenges.

For Max, teaching is more than relaying information: It’s engagement, motivation, and inspiration. He aims to elevate not only grades and scores, but confidence and composure. He strives to cultivate habits of mind — like diligence, attention to detail, and perseverance — critical to success not only in high school, but in college, and in life beyond the classroom.
Max graduated from Vassar College, where he studied Education, Psychology, and Drama. In addition to being a teacher and tutor, Max is a filmmaker, whose most recent work is an arts education documentary called Opera Kids, which was nominated for a New York Emmy!
